If you landed in this page, you are not alone. As a Latina woman, I’ve always felt the need of making my parents and those around me proud at all cost. I’ve felt that I needed to be ahead of my peers, I needed to have the best academics, the best job, the best house, the best car, the best life… Without realizing that it was draining me inside.

Being an overachiever is a blessing in disguised because you know you are capable of doing so much more but yet it seems that results don’t come fast enough. You try all this different hobbies and/or jobs but you get discourage because you don’t see the results and you’re still left feeling behind in life.

It is completely normal to feel that way, don’t beat yourself down because of it, trust me, it’s not worth it. I did it for far too long that I eventually stopped appreciating the things that I had accomplished. I stopped seeing the bigger picture and how far I have come, and why is that? well, because i focused too much on where I “wanted” to be instead of enjoying where I am today and how far I have come.

Understand something, Rome was not build in one day.

As long as you stay consistent and dedicated, and you have a greater purpose things will align in ways that you won’t be able to explain it. Be patient, and know you are not alone!

Keep pushing and keep striving! Do it! Do it even if you don’t see the results in the next year or so. It is okay to have that feeling of not accomplishing anything, what is not okay is to let that determine your now. Just know, your time will come!

Below are 3 books that I recommend for personal development. They had helped me to take off the guilt of my shoulders and understand that I’m developing myself to become the version of myself that I know I can be.

  1. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Link

2. Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill. Link

3. Destiny: Step into Your Purpose by TD Jakes. Link
